Most people are not aware of the fact that in 1946 America mounted an expedition to the antarctic wtith the purpose 'To find coal deposits' so they said.
The expedition was planed to spend 8 months in the antarctic. To everybodies amazemend the fleet showed 8 weeks later up in a South American harbor. All shot to peaces and with several fatal causualties aboard.
No good explanation has ever been given abouth what actualy happend.
There were in those day's a lot of german U-boat sightings in the antartic. The expedition, known as Operation Highjump, included a aircraftcarrier, three battleships, one of more submarines, and a lot of other ships.
Including 1400 soldiers.
